Underrepresented Minority and Low-Income (URM/LI) Student Recruitment
The 15 Pipeline, Profession & Practice: Community-Based Dental Education (Dental Pipeline) program schools use various strategies to attract and retain underrepresented minority and low-income students (URM/LI) into dental school. These strategies include:
- Expanding existing student enrichment and recruitment programs for college and high school students
- Testing new methods of enlarging the pool of qualified underrepresented minority and low-income student applicants
- Building upon successful student retention and faculty development programs
- Providing scholarships and other financial aid to qualified students
